A RESOLUTION HONORING JACK LEMON FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE VILLAGE OF PARK FOREST
WHEREAS Jack Lemon moved to Park Forest in 1958 and relocated to his current place of residence at 202 Juniper with his wife Marie in 1964; and
WHEREAS Jack and his wife raised their family in Park Forest with son David now living in Dallas, Texas and daughter Jacquie now residing in Little Rock, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS Jack Lemon was elected to the Board of Directors for Park Forest Cooperative III in 1965 and was selected Board President in 1966; and
WHEREAS he served in this capacity as Board President for nearly 43 years while representing the interests of Area J Cooperative and its membership association; and
WHEREAS during his decades-long tenure, Jack traveled the country gathering information and seeking out best practices for the administration of housing cooperatives; and
WHEREAS Jack worked side by side with officials from across all of Park Forest for the ever evolving improvement of the community; and
WHEREAS under his leadership, Area J Cooperative maintained an excellence in quality of life and attractive living conditions which contributed mightily to the overall appearance and advancement of the Park Forest community; and
WHEREAS his conscientious leadership and vision for innovation continued up until his resignation as Area J Cooperative Board President in early 2009.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Park Forest, Cook and Will Counties, that Jack Lemon is hereby honored for his nearly 43 years of service to his community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the deepest appreciation of the Board of Trustees and all of Park Forest be expressed to Jack Lemon for his years of dedication to the betterment of Park Forest and that the board wishes him a happy and healthy retirement during which he enjoys his family and other interests.
